Self Portraits

Self Portraits

I took this photo just a close up of my face because I really liked it and I liked how I felt. I editing a few things like my eyes, face, and background but I think it enhanced the picture.

I took this photo into the reflection of my microwave. I liked how i could actually see myself and everything behind me. I know its not a professional photo but I found it cool.

I LOVE this photo because it's of my favourite shoes and I added the diamond because i thought it made the photo, almost better. I editing the picture to really enhance the highlights and shadows. But I took in black and white because it suited the photo more.

I took this photo because I love being lit up and I don't know, I like Christmas. I thought it looked cool so I kept the photo.

THIS IS MY CAT AND I LOVE HER SO THIS IS MY PHOTO. But no seriously I love this photo. It was taken awhile ago but I really enjoy it.

These photo's are better hence now I have & photo's. But i really like the contrast and brightness in both photos. I love my eyes and in the second photo i love my bright hat.

Infrared Photohraphy

Infrared Photography

-Infrared photography?
Sir William Hershel was an amateur astronomer discovered infrared in the early 19th century.
The first traces into IR photography, using certain film plates, began during WW1 so part of the 20th century. Since it was during WW1 the type of photography seemed to be very valuable. The distinctions in the images were incredible, and making things such as rivers, streams, lakes, and other waterways more obvious. In the 1930’s and 1940’s a variety of special IR lenses were made for amateur photographers and Hollywood filmmakers. Certain lenses were also used in the war as advantages. Everything soon changed in the 1990’s with the digital camera, but the law enforcement officials rely and use IR photography to detect evidence that isn’t seen through normal eyesight.

-How?
William was familiar with Newton’s discovery that sunlight could be separated into its separate components through refraction through a glass prism. William passed sunlight through a glass prism to create a spectrum (the rainbow created when light is divided into its color components.) William measured the temperature of the violet, blue, green, yellow, orange and red light. He noticed that all the colors had temperatures higher, closer to the violet and red part of the spectrum. William now trying to understand this measured the temperature just beyond the red portion of the spectrum and found this part of the spectrum had the highest temperature of all and contained the most heat. What William discovered was a form of light beyond red light. William’s experiments lead to the discovery of infrared light

Other People's Self Portraits

Self Portraits
#1
I chose this photo because I really love heels, and its a different perspective of a typical self portrait. The photo has a really dark look to it but I think thats why I like it more.
                                                                               #2
I chose this photo because I like the contrast of colours. From her red hair to the teal walls. I really like how it's different and not typical. This photo just kinda jumped out at me and that's why I chose it.

                                                                            #3
I like this photo because not only is it a self portrait of the one girl but she's lying on a bunch of photos. It kinda seems like the photo is betraying memories she had. Maybe ones she's trying to forget. It kinda relates to me but I just really like the photo.
